Kids report fire in East Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga firefighters have been battling a blaze on Taylor Street for most of the afternoon.

It happened at an old scrapyard on Taylor Street around 4 PM.

Firefighters first learned about it when children walked up to Station 4 and reported the fire to Captain David Brooks.

It was just a few blocks away.

Seven fire companies responded to put the blaze out.

No one was hurt.

The cause is under investigation.
