Klowns on Social Media in Chattanooga; Police Say No Credible Threats

Chattanooga (WDEF)  The crazy clown sightings come to Chattanooga… but so far, only on social media.

Several viewers tell us they received facebook friend requests from Chattanooga Klown. Also, a user going by the name Clownbuster Killer has been making threats on Instagram to students in Red Bank. Chattanooga police say there is no credible threat.

Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum says his department received two calls Monday night about clowns roaming around Tracy City. Those reports were false. Shrum says you’d have to be an absolute idiot to dress up like a “scary clown” and run around Grundy County scaring people.

There have been reports of clowns trying to lure children into the woods in several southeastern cities.
