HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Firefighters with the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department were busy Monday morning battling a fire at the Knights of Pythias Clubhouse.

It happened just before 7:30 a.m. at 6641 Pythian Road in Harrison.

Firefighters arrived within minutes to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the building.

Fire crews from the Chattanooga, Dallas Bay and Tri-Community fire departments assisted after responding to a mutual aid call.

The Clubhouse was deemed to be a total loss, but full damages are not known at this time.

Authorities were still investigating to determine what caused the fire.

Firefighters said nobody was hurt.

Now, there is a GoFundMe raising donations to rebuild the lodge.

In addition, the organizer of the GoFundMe said the fire was started by a lightning strike at about 6:30 a.m. on Monday.

They said the fire resulted in the loss of historical artifacts, archives and the original charter signed by Abraham Lincoln.
