Knights of Pythias Clubhouse destroyed in fire
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Firefighters with the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department were busy Monday morning battling a fire at the Knights of Pythias Clubhouse.
It happened just before 7:30 a.m. at 6641 Pythian Road in Harrison.
Firefighters arrived within minutes to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the building.
Fire crews from the Chattanooga, Dallas Bay and Tri-Community fire departments assisted after responding to a mutual aid call.
The Clubhouse was deemed to be a total loss, but full damages are not known at this time.
Authorities were still investigating to determine what caused the fire.
Firefighters said nobody was hurt.
Now, there is a GoFundMe raising donations to rebuild the lodge.
In addition, the organizer of the GoFundMe said the fire was started by a lightning strike at about 6:30 a.m. on Monday.
They said the fire resulted in the loss of historical artifacts, archives and the original charter signed by Abraham Lincoln.
