KPD: Officers save 4 overdose victims in 5 days

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – In a matter of five days, officers with the Knoxville Police Department saved the lives of four people who overdosed on heroin.

Investigators say the first rescue happened at a Chapman Highway motel on Saturday, March 12. Officer Travis Harvey found an unresponsive woman inside and immediately gave her Naloxone, a drug used to reverse the affects of overdose. Police say the woman and her friend were using heroin while celebrating her release from a drug rehab program.
