La Paz seeks support for grant challenge
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — La Paz Chattanooga is seeking support for a national grant challenge called “A Community Thrives.”
The Gannett Foundation will be awarding several community grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.
It’s for agencies who meet their fundraising goals in a crowd funding challenge.
La Paz’s campaign theme is “We Are Chattanoogans.” It centers on bringing awareness to the needs faced by the growing Latino population in Chattanooga.
If they are awarded the grant, they will use that money towards a new Latino Resource and Cultural Center.
“The Latino community who comes to us for lots of support. They really need a larger facility and more appropriate facility for them to share especially sensitive information that they sometimes come to our social impact staff members to get guidance and support,” said Patrick Miles, the director of community engagement at La Paz.
The contest ends on May 11. If you are interested in donating to the campaign, click here.
