La-Z-Boy adds 115 new jobs in Dayton

La-Z-Boy says they’re bringing in one-hundred and fifteen new jobs to the Dayton area.

The Tennessee Governor, the Department of Economic and Community Development and La-Z-Boy plan to invest twenty-six million dollars over the next three years in Rhea County.

Plans are to expand its existing facility, current logistics area and add a new innovation center.

La-Z-Boy has been a resident of Rhea County since nineteen seventy-three and employs about fourteen hundred employees.

County Executive George Thacker says he believes the growth stems from an increase in housing and commercial permits.

“The average pay is going to be almost $18.00 an hour and the impact – I know $42 million-dollars is the total impact for the community.”

They’re currently working on several more commercial projects which they plan to announce in the future.
