LaFayette Police warn parents of Halloween candy tampering

Multiple complaints this year of "foreign item" in candy

LAFAYETTE, Georgia (WDEF) – Police in LaFayette are warning parents to check their kids’ Halloween candy.

They have gotten multiple reports of a “foreign item” in a candy product.

The children got the suspect candy while trick or treating in LaFayette on Halloween night.

They say a police report has been filed and they are investigating the source of the “foreign item.”

“We ask that anyone with concerns or further information please contact the Lafayette Police department immediately at 706-639-1540 or through 911.”
