LaFayette Softball Stays Unbeaten in Region Play With 7-2 Win Over Ridgeland

Rossville, GA-(WDEF-TV) The LaFayette softball team improved to 4-0 in region play with a 7-2 victory over Ridgeland on Thursday at Ridgeland high school. With the Ramblers up 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Madison Pettigrew slammed a two run homer to left to make it 3-0. Then with the score 4-0 in the top of the sixth, LaFayette had the bases loaded for Ashton Stalling. She lined one off the head of Ridgeland pitcher Hailey Carroll. The ball ricocheted into center field. By the time the Panthers could corral the ball, all three runners scored for LaFayette. Carroll left the game after getting hit. The Panthers added two runs in the bottom of the sixth to make the final 7-2. Pettigrew got the victory pitching a complete game six-hitter. Shelby Adkins also had a nice day at the plate for LaFayette going 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored.
