Lake Winnie’s history tour

ROSSVILLE, Ga. (WDEF)- Many residents of the Thrive at Brow Wood senior living community spent their afternoon on a field trip visiting Lake Winnepesaukah.

This tour included a nice train ride and an opportunity to learn many fun facts about the park.

Along with the roller coasters and treats, the tour was led partly by their fellow resident, Adrienne Rhodes, whose grandparents founded the amusement park in 1925.

Adrienne spoke a lot about Lake Winnie’s history and why she believes everyone of all ages should come and visit this beautiful amusement park.

She said, “You need to come, just sit and relax. And watch the other people having fun, swimming boating riding ride and just enjoy yourself just enjoy the beauty of God’s country…”

The park has been kept in the family for nearly 100 years and has been well taken care of.

The day was wonderful, filled with smiles and laughter, giving everyone the chance to enjoy the fall weather and create lasting memories.
