Large tree falls on vehicle off Burning Bush Road
RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF) – Strong storms moved through the area Saturday evening, bringing down trees and power lines in parts of Ringgold.
A resident living off Burning Bush Road told News 12 that a large tree fell onto a neighbor’s vehicle during the storm.
According to the resident, a transformer was struck, causing a power line to fall and ultimately bringing the tree down onto the car.
Neighbor Angie Lovell said the incident happened suddenly while she and her family were preparing dinner.
“We were getting ready to cook some salmon from Costco. We put it in the oven, and not even two minutes later we heard a boom. We thought it was just the transformer because that’s happened many times over the years. We didn’t think much about it. Then all the neighbors started gathering outside, and when we went out, this is what we saw.”
Lovell stated that deputies arrived quickly and checked on residents to ensure everyone was safe.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Crews continued working in the area as residents assessed the damage left behind by the storm.
