Law enforcement Kick off “Slow Down Move Over” campaign on Friday
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- First Responders came together to kick off the Slow Down Move Over Campaign.
Towing and Recovery Association of America and Randy Meyer Racing teamed up with Law enforcement for the cause.
“Slow Down Move Over” Law went into effect in 2006.
Motorists are required to change lanes when another vehicle is on the side of the road.
“For everyone’s safety, remember to stay alert, follow the law, make smart decisions,” said Sgt. Cecil Harvey, Tennessee Highway Patrol. “Moving over and slowing down only takes seconds, and it can save a life.”
Folks who fail to move over will be fined up to $500 and do 30 days in jail.
