Leaf collection truck overturns in Hixson, driver trapped

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga firefighters had to get the driver out of a leaf-blowing truck that overturned this morning in Hixson.

The wreck happened at in a neighborhood on Gadd Road.

The truck hit a pole and then turned on its side in a ditch.

The driver was pinned inside by the steering wheel.

Rescue crews had to take the roof of of the truck to get to the driver.

Fire officials say the onboard vehicle tracker showed the truck was only going in the low 20s at the time and no other vehicle was involved.

The driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
