Lee University’s Olympic Field Getting Upgrade

Cleveland, TN-(WDEF-TV) Lee University’s baseball field is getting a makeover.
The aluminum bleachers were removed and the dugouts were torn down last week. Olympic Field will soon feel more like a stadium. There will be new locker space for the team, and a new spectator area with chair back seating. It will also be more fan friendly with better concessions and bathroom facilities. Lee head coach Mark Brew says Olympic Field needed the upgrade, especially since Lee is now a Division two school. Said Brew:”I think the University realized the opportunity to keep up with the other facilities in the conference and regionally. I think this will put us in the upper echelon of facilities in the region. Projection is to have everything ready you know by January and certainly by first pitch February 1st when we play here. We open up our season against Lindenwood University.”
Reporter:”Are those seats going to be warm for February 1st?”
Said Brew laughing:” Well it’s not a heated stadium, but hopefully we can order up a day like today.”
