CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) –The Chattanooga Public Library has a lineup of programs for students and families this August.

As they head back to the classroom, the library has ways to connect downtown.

An event targeting youth engagement and violence prevention is taking over Friday nights at the Chattanooga Public Library.

423 Chain Breakers will be partnering with the downtown library for this event throughout August.

Youth ages 18 and younger can have fun at the library outside of the library’s regularly scheduled hours.

Along with this interactive program, ‘Read & Ride’ will be extended until the end of this year. After a great community turnout with the program, the library and CARTA decided to extend this initiative until December 31.

EPB is also partnering with the library to provide free parking throughout the week. Library guests will have the chance to park at the EPB parking garage, adjacent to the library.

If that wasn’t enough, the library is also celebrating their 10th anniversary of the 4th Floor. Their Makerspace is an educational facility with a focus on information, design, technology, and the applied arts.

Families can find a handful of activities downtown and across Chattanooga at the CPL branches.
