Lifeforce Helicopter Crashes in Macon County, North Carolina

MACON COUNTY, NC (WDEF) –  News 12 is following a developing story out of Macon County, North Carolina. According to a Deputy with the Sheriff’s Office a Lifeforce helicopter from Erlanger crashed there, in a field, around 7 o’clock this (3/9/23) evening. Within an hour, two staff members, who were on board, and the patient were taken by ground ambulance to Mission Hospital in Ashville, North Carolina. No official word yet on their names or the extent of their injuries. The Deputy we spoke with said she thought the pilot was not hurt in the crash. No word yet why that chopper went down.
