Local auto dealer on tour helicopter that crashed at Hawaii lava field

HAWAII COUNTY, Hawaii (WDEF) – Three of the passengers on a tourist helicopter that crashed in Hawaii last night are from Chattanooga.

Everyone on board survived, but the pilot and a 19 year old woman were seriously injured.

The Chattanoogan reports that Mountain View Auto Group President Clay Watson and his two daughters were on board.

We don’t know the extent of the injuries at this point.

The tour helicopter was flying over a remote lava field on Hawaii Island on Wednesday evening.

The crash scene was not reachable by vehicles so they had to fly the victims out on other helicopters

All six people on board were taken to the hospital.

Officials do not know why the helicopter crashed at this time.
