Local Congresswoman Greene protests Trump indictment
NEW YORK (WDEF) — Local Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene visited Manhattan on Tuesday to protest the Trump arraignment. NYC Mayor Eric Adams warned Greene and other protestors that they needed to “be on their best behavior.”
“Although we have no specific threats, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech, as she stated she’s coming to town, while you’re in town, be on your best behavior,” Adams said on Monday. He made the statement at a City Hall press conference in preparation of Trump’s appearance.
Greene believes there were counter protestors making excessive noise in effort to drown her out.
“I’m here to protest and use my First Amendment rights to stand up against the- not the prosecution- the persecution. And the weaponization of government against the former president of the United States,” Greene said.

Greene posted the photo to social media with the caption “We will NEVER abandon President Trump, (Courtesy: Marjorie Taylor Greene)
Former President Donald Trump made a statement on Thursday following the indictment. He is calling the situation “political persecution and election interference.”
Trump arrived in Manhattan Tuesday afternoon. The arraignment is taking place Tuesday as well, where charges will be read to Trump in court. A grand jury previously indicted Trump last week.
Various news sources say the indictment should be unsealed on Tuesday. But many believe the charges are related to a payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election.
