Local Democrats react to Walz VP pick
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- We are hearing from some local Democrats who are reacting to the Tim Walz vice presidential pick.
One reaction is coming from Chris Anderson.
The former city councilman is currently on the Tennessee Democratic Party’s executive council.
He says he has been a supporter of Governor Walz for years.
“Vice President Harris was really fortunate because she had a long list of really great options, but I’m so glad it’s Tim Walz,” said Anderson. “He’s going to be a great addition to the ticket. America is going to love him. The more they get to know about him, the more they will like. He’s been a strong supporter of women’s rights to control their own bodies, of LGBTQ+ rights. He is a human rights, and most importantly unlike JD Vance, he’s not weird.”
Anderson will be a delegate for the Harris-Walz ticket at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago later this month.
