Local Doctor talks about 4th COVID booster

FDA approves shot for people 50 and over

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A second COVID booster shot has been approved by the FDA.

The FDA approved an additional dose of the mRNA vaccine those 50 or older.

That means that a second booster has some benefit for the immuno-compromised with virtually no risk.

According to the FDA, evidence emerging from Israel indicates that a fourth dose of mNRA vaccine improves protection against severe illness and does not pose new safety concerns.

Local physician Dr. Carlos Baleeiro tells us that 700,000 people received an additional dose in Israel and complications were negligible.

Those who want a second booster of Pfizer or Moderna can get one four months after getting their first dose
