Local non-profit gives new coats to elementary students
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Christmas is coming early for some Chattanooga elementary school students.
LaDarius Price and his local non-profit group “PEAK” is donating more than 40 new coats to students at Woodmore and Orchard Knob Elementary Schools tomorrow.
The group has been doing this for the past three years.
PEAK stands for Placing Emphasis Around Kids, and Price says he started the organization to give back to kids, and the community he grew up in.
“It’s really a blessing to be able to pour back into the environments in which you came from. That school has shaped and molded me in a lot of different ways, and I just wanted to have the opportunity with my friend and classmate to give back to a place that we came from.” says LaDarius Price, founder of PEAK.
Price says he hopes to eventually donate new coats to every Hamilton County elementary school.
