Local police, firefighters remind drivers of distracted driving

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga police and firefighters want to remind the community of the hazards when driving distracted.

The Chattanooga Police Department posted on Facebook Friday afternoon, “Anything that takes attention away from driving can be a distraction”.

This message came after reports of two Chattanooga fire trucks were rear-ended by motorists within the span of five days.

CPD explains, “Sending a text message, talking on a phone, using a navigation system, or eating while driving are just a few of the more common the distractions #ChattPD Officers encounter”.
