Local terminal diagnosis support group created
Welcome Home of Chattanooga launches "Demystifying Death" January 25
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) — A new support group is starting up later this January to help those who have recently received a terminal diagnosis.
The group is being started by Welcome Home of Chattanooga and is an extension of its education series “Demystifying Death.”
Attendees will be offered a safe space for to talk about their feelings and concerns about death in a safe and welcoming environment.
“What we would like the focus here to be [is] a place where people can come and talk about what are their fears, what are their hopes as they approach, perhaps, the end of their life,” said Welcome Home Education Director Judith Pederson-Benn.
The group is open to the public and will host its first meeting at Welcome Home’s Quiet Creek Trail building on January 25th.
The meeting will also be streamed on Zoom in you can’t attend in person.
