Lockdown lifted at Erlanger after false alarm
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A lockdown has been lifted at Erlanger Baroness Hospital Wednesday morning after a security alert about a possible active shooter.
An Erlanger spokesperson said that the hospital was placed on lockdown after they received a notice about a possible active shooter.
They went on to say that this call was quickly determined to be false.
They mentioned they are testing a new security system but say that is unrelated to this incident.
They thank law enforcement for their response this morning.
To reiterate, there was no active shooter Wednesday morning at Erlanger Baroness Hospital.
