Looking Ahead to March 11, 2016

An effort to update Tennessee’s car seat rules has been pulled back for renewed debate in the House.
The House voted 64-26 to recall the bill over questions about whether it would increase the age that children would be required to ride in booster seats.
At issue is whether children need to ride in booster seats until age 8 or age 12.
The bill passed both chambers earlier this week, and was headed for a signature by Gov. Bill Haslam.

State officials and the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services will be in Bradley County today  to ceremonially accept donated property for the future Bradley County Tennessee State Veterans Home.
They’ll be joined by Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland and Bradley County Mayor D. Gary Davis.
Officials say this is a milestone that will serve as the latest achievement in a 10-year endeavor.
That event takes place at 10AM on Westland Drive in Cleveland.

Local Salvation Army officials report a massive shortage in the food pantry.
The Salvation Army food pantry located within its Social Services office at 21-40 East 28th Street, alerted administration it is barely capable of putting together complete food boxes for families.
They ask the community to step forward and donate non-perishable food items.
Popular items include: proteins like stew, canned meats, beans, and chili.
