Lookouts Beat Smokies to Complete a 9-1 Home Stand
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Chattanooga Lookouts wrapped up a ten game home stand on Wednesday afternoon beating the Tennessee Smokies 8-6. The Lookouts went 9-1 during the home stand at AT&T Field. In Wednesday’s contest, the Smokies grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a 2 run homer from Chancer Burks. Chattanooga evened the score in the bottom of the third on a two RBI base hit from LaMonte Wade. The Lookouts added a solo homer from Brent Rooker in the fifth to make it 4-2 Chattanooga, but then Tennessee responded with three runs in the top of the sixth to regain the lead at 5-4.
Lookouts rallied with four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Two runs scored in a wild pitch to put Chattanooga ahead for good at 6-5. Zander Wiel then added an RBI single and T.J. White came through with an RBI double to make it 8-5. Chattanooga went on to win 8-6 to improve to 26-14 on the year.
