Lookouts John Curtiss Named Southern League Relief Pitcher of the Month

(lookouts.com) CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Southern League has announced that Chattanooga Lookouts’ relief pitcher, John Curtiss has been named the Southern League-BC Relief Pitcher of the Month for the month of May.
During the month of May, Curtiss appeared in eight games and was six-for-six in save opportunities. In his eight game appearances, Curtiss pitched 9.1 innings, allowing just four hits, and four walks, while striking out twelve. Curtiss did not allow a run or an earned run during the entire month of May and has yet to allow an earned run during the 2017 season. The righty has also limited opponents to a .133 batting average this month.
The six saves that Curtiss collected in the month of May, tie him with Montgomery’s Diego Castillo for the second most saves in all of Minor League Baseball at the Double-A level. Curtiss’ six saves in May also rank him as the leader in saves in the Minnesota Twins organization not only for the month of May but for the entire 2017 season thus far.
On the season, Curtiss has appeared in 16 games and has collected nine saves as of June 1, 2017. Curtiss has pitched 17.2 innings in 2017 and has allowed ten hits, one run, and ten walks.
