Lost hiker rescued on Signal Mountain

SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF) – Signal Mountain Firefighters were called to the Rainbow Falls Trail area around 5:35 pm Saturday evening because of a female hiker lost on the trail.

According to officials, rescue officials entered the woods 10 minutes late to search for the hiker. Rescue teams hiked about 1 mile along the trail until they found the hiker just after 6:00 pm.

Officials say rescuers confirmed no injuries to the hiker before walking her out of the woods.

Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for in case of any injuries. Walden’s Ridge Emergency Services were on standby at Signal Mountain’s fire station in case of additional emergency calls in the area.
