For the Love of Science rally held on Earth Day

Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) — A crowd of all kinds gathered at Ross’s Landing Saturday afternoon for the first annual Chattanooga Earth Day Rally For the Love of Science.

There was music and several booths demonstrating how science plays a role in Earth Day and the environment in general.

This was also an opportunity for local clubs and campaigns to showcase what they’re all about.

“All of us are concerned with earth … with the pollution, with all of the erosion and everything that is happening, the different heat waves you know, the different cooling areas.  It’s a day where we can all celebrate together as one, to try to save our planet,” says Cindy Robbins, a member of the Sierra Club.

“We are trying to make sure that people know that climate change is real.  Science is real about it and that we ought to respect what science has come up with and pay attention when we get around to making decisions,” says Sandy Kurtz, an environmental educator and activist.
