Mailboxes vandalized in East Ridge neighborhood
EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) — Police are looking for whoever is responsible for vandalizing a slew of mailboxes in an East Ridge neighborhood.
Police say several mailboxes were damaged on Marietta Street and Truman Avenue on late Saturday and early Sunday morning.
Neighbors say garbage cans were also dumped over into the street.
Many residents already fixed their mailboxes, but some had numbers off them or the wood was splintered.
People who lived in the area for decades say nothing like this has happened recently.
“Occasionally, we might miss something out of the yard. Or somebody loses their chair off the porch, but there is not a lot that goes on in this particular neighborhood, you know,” said Ronald Berry.
If you have any information about this, contact the East Ridge Police Department.
