Saturday afternoon was the Make A Wish Run for Wishes Magical 5k. Make – A – Wish East Tennessee teamed up with local production team The Goose Chase
At the event, participants were encouraged to dress as as their favorite characters. Ran and walked the course dressed as princesses, superheroes, wizards, and more.
According to President and CEO of Make – A – Wish Garrett Wagley, funds raised went to help grant life-changing wishes to critically ill children in East Tennessee.
“We grant wishes to kids with a critical illness and they help them in their medical journey. Now, 80 percent of kids who receive a wish, make it to adulthood. So, it’s part of their medical treatment. It gives them hope strength and joy. The other thing you need to know is Make-A-Wish is local. Make-A-Wish East Tennessee is one of the 59 chapters of Make-A-Wish, we are our own independent non-profit,” said Wagley.
