Man arrested for armed robbery in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) — A man has been arrested for the March 28th armed robbery of Dollar General in downtown Chattanooga.

49-year-old Abraham Emmanuel Jackson was charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.

A store clerk reportedly said Jackson had a knife in hand and told her to open the store’s cash register.

She refused, fought back and safely escaped.

Jackson then took two 18-packs of beer and left.

Officials say another Dollar General employee identified Jackson as someone who had stolen beer from the store before.
