Man busted for DUI while waiting in line to pick up a child at school

FORT PAYNE, Alabama (WDEF) – A DUI arrest may not be that uncommon.

But the location of this arrest in northeast Alabama is certainly different.

Fort Payne charged 60 year old Clyde William Roden with Driving Under the Influence of Any Substance.

They aren’t sure yet what the substance was.

Officials say Roden was waiting in line to pickup up a Child at Wills Valley Elementary on Wednesday afternoon.

The school resource officer noticed that he was impaired and made the arrest.

Fort Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum says it was “a poor choice to drive impaired but especially when that choice could jeopardize the lives of so many children on the school grounds.”
