Man charged with attempted murder after Saturday morning shooting

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police say a standoff happened Saturday morning as a result of an altercation between two men. 

Police officers were dispatched to an aggravated assault call in the 2600 block of East 44th Street. 
Officials say the victim Charles Moore and Robert Murphy got into a fight.  

According to the press release, the victim told police that Murphy struck him in the head with an object. Moore told police that he tried to leave the scene, but Murphy fired a gun at him numerous times.

Officials say Murphy would not come out of the home when officers arrived but he eventually surrendered before the SWAT team showed up. 

Robert Murphy has been charged with attempted murder.
