Man stabbed with pocket knife on O’Neal Street

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police were called to the 100 block of O’Neal Street shortly before midnight Friday night on reports of a stabbing.

At the scene, Chattanooga Police say they found 24 year old Cody Stamper bleeding from the lower abdomen.

Officials say Stamper was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

With the help of the victim and witness statements, police say they were able to locate the suspect, 59 year old Charles Brown, moments later still in the area.

According to Chattanooga Police, Stamper and Brown were involved in a disorder that escalated.

Police say Brown brandished a pocket knife during the disorder and cut Brown in the lower abdomen.

Brown was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
