Marcus Mariota Makes His Team Debut With the Titans
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Marcus Mariota has started the process of getting used to being under center as an NFL quarterback, and the Tennessee Titans liked what they saw during the quarterback’s first day on the field.
The Heisman Trophy winner and the No. 2 overall pick said Friday he felt good the first day of rookie minicamp.
Mariota, who mostly played in the shotgun at Oregon, says being under center was a little different. He added, though, it’s just football and doing what coaches want.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt has promised to incorporate some of what Mariota ran in college into his scheme to make his new quarterback’s transition smooth as possible.
Mariota is just happy to be back on a field after a few long months.
