Marriage Recognition Proclamation

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Some local church leaders say having a strong, Biblical marriage can improve the community, and cut down on crime.
Members of the Covenant Keypers and Mount Paran Baptist Church are promoting the Marriage Recognition Proclamation.
They say statistics show when kids grow up in a family with 2 parents, that child has a better chance of succeeding in school and in the community.
They met with Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke about the importance of a Biblical marriage.
Rosalyn Hickman is the Executive Director of Covenant Keypers,
“When no one is home with the children, when there is a single parent, and she’s working, or he’s working, and children are on their own, they’re more likely to get involved in gangs and be entertained by things that are not so valuable to our community”
Even though the U.S. Supreme Court has legalized same sex marriage, members of Mount Paran Baptist Church believe a marriage should be between a man and a woman.
