Matthew Stafford Believes Kirby Smart Can Take Georgia to Next Level
Former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford was back in Athens on Friday, attending a coaching clinic put on by new Dawgs head coach Kirby Smart.
Stafford of course played for Mark Richt at Georgia, but he believes Smart can make the Bulldogs an elite team.
Said Stafford-“Obviously watched his career at Alabama. He has learned under a great coach. He was a great player in his own right. I’m confident he’s going to get this program. Not that it was going in the wrong direction. We were winning a ten games a year. Maybe he can help us get over that next step and compete for championships. That’s what playing sports is all about is winning, and I’m sure he’s motivated to do that.”
