Mayor Shares Vision for Growth
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp spoke to members of the Hamilton County Pachyderm Club Monday, highlighting accomplishments from his first term and outlining priorities for the future as he runs for reelection.
During the meeting, Wamp emphasized investing in young people across the county, pointing to expanded opportunities in technical education.
He encouraged families to explore the Franklin Roberts learning center for technical studies in the coming weeks as workforce development remains a key focus.
Wamp also discussed ongoing revitalization efforts, including renovations at Brainerd High School aimed at freshening up the campus and improving the learning environment for students.
Property taxes were another topic of discussion, with the mayor noting collaboration with State Senator Bo Watson to address concerns from residents.
Wamp acknowledged frustrations over litter across the county and said officials are working to identify ways to reduce waste and keep roadways clean.
As new developments continue to move into the area, Wamp addressed how the county plans to keep up with infrastructure demands while managing rapid growth.
The Pachyderm Club announced there will be no meeting next week due to Presidents’ Day.
