McCallie School wraps sexual misconduct investigation
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – School officials with McCallie says they’ve wrapped up their investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.
McCallie hired a law firm in April to look into some incidents at the school that reportedly happened in the 1990s.
School officials sent a letter with the results of that investigation, saying “there have been no allegations of sexual misconduct involving any current employee of McCallie,” and no allegations by any employees since 2000.
The school says the sexual misconduct allegations did go beyond the two that prompted the investigation in the first place.
They say the law firm received calls from 14 former students, who reported being victims of sexual misconduct at McCallie between the late 1960s and 2000.
The former students said all five perpetrators were former employees, and four of them have since died.

McCallie officials say they’re not releasing the offenders’ names, or dates of the incidents, to protect the privacy of the victims.
School leaders say they have notified authorities with the new information found in this investigation.
