McMinn County Searching for 2 Suspects in Weekend Shooting

Athens, TN (WDEF) – The McMinn County Sheriff’s Department are looking for a pair of suspects in a shooting on Saturday night.

54-year old George Sanford was shot at least once at a home on County road 788.

He is in serious condition at Erlanger.

Witnesses say the suspects, 58 year old Harold Hutsell and 28 year old Daniel Farr fled the scene in a silver Kia.

"It appears that the three men are related, and had a previous disagreement," said Sheriff Guy. "The disagreement escalated, then turned violent and resulted in the shooting."

Deputies found the abandoned vehicle.

The sheriff hopes they will turn themselves in.
