McMinn County suspect wanted after attempted traffic stop

Athens, TN (WDEF) – McMinn County Sheriff’s Deputies search for a suspect after an attempted traffic stop near the Kmart in Athens Tuesday night.

Deputies say 34-year-old Shane Albertson crashed his vehicle, and then took off on foot holding what appeared to be a handgun.

Detectives determined Albertson has warrants for his arrest in Knoxville.

He also faces Felony Drug charges in Florida.

Albertson was last seen in the Kmart-Velma Road area of Athens.

He may still be armed.
