McMinn Sheriff Seeks Wanted Suspect With 7-Year Old Child

ETOWAH, Tennessee (WDEF) – The McMinn County Sheriff is looking for a Colorado man suspected of snatching his seven year old son from a school in Etowah this morning.

Sheriff Joe Guy says that on Sunday, Jared Lackey forced his estranged wife and family into a vehicle and threatened to take them to California.

Then on Monday Morning, they believe he took Kaden Jack Lackey from Mountain View School.

“Mr. Lackey has the right to have his son with him, but here are active arrest warrants on Jared Lackey for kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with 911,” said Sheriff Guy. “We are seeking any information on Mr. Lackey’s location, and we want to ensure Kaden’s safety. There is an active order of protection against Mr. Lackey as well.”

Lackey is age 29, 5ft 11in, 165 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes. He is believed to be driving a charcoal gray Chevrolet Siverado pickup truck with Colorado license plate YQU091.

Kaden is 4ft 6in, 50 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a blue Spiderman shirt, blue jeans, and blue shoes. He also wears black-rimmed eye glasses with lime green ear.
