Measles making a comeback in several states like Tennessee
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is monitoring a measles outbreak in 21 states, including here in Tennessee.
The C-D-C says 107 people have reported contracting the virus.
The measles is airborne, and spreads through coughing and sneezing.
There were only 118 cases last year, and only 86 the year before that.
The last outbreak was in 20-15 when 188 people contracted the measles.
The outbreak is linked to an amusement park in California, where it’s thought a traveler from overseas brought it to the U.S.
