Media speculates that Dalton’s Marla Maples may have spilled the Trump tax returns
NEW YORK, NY (WDEF) – Just who leaked the Trump tax returns which are swamping the political landscape on Monday?
Some media speculation has turned to his ex-wife and northwest Georgia native Marla Maples.
The New York Times is not saying who sent them copies of the tax returns, if they, in fact, know.
But various pundits point to the Marla Trump signature in the margins (she signed them as Trumps wife at the time).

She is the only person who could release the information without legal jeopardy.
And some wonder why The Times never contacted her to comment on the returns.
Marla, herself, has remained silent on the returns and just about everything else from her ex’s political campaign.
But a reporter from The Daily Beast is reading between the lines for a (very cryptic) opinion from Maples.
There does seem to be an interesting time line here.
Maples returned from Georgia, where she visited family members.
She then did an interview with The Daily Beast, in which she admitted she is more liberal than her ex-husband.
The day after that interview was published, the tax returns arrived in the mail to the New York Times offices.
Her only response today on her personal twitter page was repeating this cryptic fall message that the Daily Beast reads so much into.
