Mega Millions offers record jackpot on Tuesday
NASHVILLE (WDEF) – The Tennessee Lottery announces that tonight’s drawing of Mega Millions will set a record.
The jackpot now stands at $667 million.
That makes it the highest Mega Millions award ever, and the third largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
Then on Wednesday, Powerball offers a $345 million jackpot.
“Players are having fun and ticket sales are growing, which is great news for the education programs we fund,” said Rebecca Hargrove, President and CEO of the Tennessee Education Lottery.
“As always, we remind players to have fun, but play responsibly. It only takes one ticket to win.”
The largest Mega Millions win in Tennessee was a mother and son from Bellevue who took a $61 million jackpot.
You have until 10:45 PM to buy a ticket for tonight’s drawing.
Your odds of winning the jackpot is about 1 in 303 million.
That is 300 times greater than a chance that you will be hit and killed by a meteorite.
It is around 5 million times greater than the odds that the UT Vols would win the SEC championship this season.
