Meth ring arrests in northeast Alabama.

FORT PAYNE, Alabama (WDEF) The DeKalb County Drug Task Force have teamed up with the DEA to crack down on a meth pipeline to northeast Alabama.

After a two year investigation, they have arrested nine people in the ring.

They say 34 year old Roberto Flores and 35 year old Carlos Lozano rang the operation from Calera, Alabama south of Birmingham.

Officers seized about 2.5 kilograms of meth during the arrests this week.

But they suspect the ring delivered more than 50 kilograms in the region.

DeKalb County Chief Deputy and Drug Task Force Commander Michael Edmondson said, “We have been working this case from the bottom up for over two years, and we are confident that the arrests of Flores and Lozano will slow this line of meth distribution in our area.”

“I can’t emphasize enough the importance of the partnership with the DEA team in this investigation. This has been a cooperative, thorough, and successful effort from start to finish.”
