Million Dollar Band Performs at Finley Stadium

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The Third Saturday in October is a tradition filled weekend in our region.

One such tradition came back for the first time in four years as the University of Alabama’s Million Dollar Band performed a concert for Alabama fans, alumni, and parents Friday afternoon at Finley Stadium.

They were the second SEC marching band to come through Chattanooga as in many weeks, as the University of Tennessee’s Pride of the Southland Marching Band visited the Scenic City last Thursday. Ironically they will be facing off tomorrow along with their respective teams in the Third Saturday of October game at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville.

The Million Dollar Band has stopped in Chattanooga every other year since 1992 on their way to the annual rivalry game in Knoxville.

They performed their halftime show for tomorrow, pep tunes, and other traditional school songs. A local teacher at Hunter Middle School even got to conduct the band in Yea Alabama, the school’s fight song.

You can hear both bands and watch a top ten showdown as #3 Alabama visits #6 Tennessee right here on News 12 at 3:30 PM Saturday.
