Missing sailor found safe

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — A sailor from Cleveland, who went missing in Singapore, has been found safe.

He reported to the U.S. Embassy on May 11.

Here is a statement from the U.S. Navy:

“The previously missing USS Oklahoma City Sailor, Machinist’s Mate Fireman Seth Woods, reported to the U.S. Embassy in Singapore, May 11. Woods was (declared?) missing in Singapore on May 6 after he separated from his shipmate and failed to return to Oklahoma City following liberty expiration. Fellow crew members, NCIS, the U.S. Embassy Singapore regional security office, and local police coordinated efforts in their search for him. We are glad Woods was found safe. He will be returned to Guam where his submarine is homeported. Once he returns to Guam, he will be provided a full medical evaluation, and an investigation will be conducted to determine the extent of his alleged misconduct (for Unauthorized Absence and missing ship movement) following clearance by appropriate medical professionals.”
