Mobile Pantry Supports School Families

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Orchard Knob Elementary hosts a School Mobile Pantry distribution in partnership with the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank serves a 20-county region across Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia and operates School Mobile Pantry distributions at select campuses.

Orchard Knob Elementary, listed on the food bank’s distribution calendar as “Orchard Knob Community,” hosts a Mobile Pantry every second Thursday of the month.

According to organizers, distributions run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and typically serve around 100 families.

Organizers say the Mobile Pantry program at Orchard Knob originally began at the middle school before expanding to the elementary campus.

Unum shares information about the event with employees, and employees often volunteer during the distributions.

Distributions are scheduled monthly and operate during the posted timeframe.
