Mocs Basketball Game Saturday at VMI Postponed

GREENSBORO, N.C.—The Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball contest at VMI scheduled for Jan. 23 is postponed because of a state of emergency in Virginia due to the current winter storm. Heavy snowfall made the roads dangerous for travel between Greensboro, N.C., where the Mocs captured a 73-60 win over UNCG last night, and Lexington, Va.

While other Southern Conference contests affected by the storm are able to move to Sunday, VMI’s Monday game against Furman made that an impossibility. There is no current date for the makeup as the two teams and league office attempt to find a workable spot in each team’s schedule.

The Mocs are 17-3 overall, 6-1 leading the SoCon. The 17-3 record is the best since the 1982-83 squad opened 26-3.
